The World Bank invited Populari’s policy researcher Katarina Cvikl to take active part in the “Jobs for Bosnia and Herzegovina” debate that was held on 30 January 2014 in Sarajevo. The discussion Katarina participated in was organised to accompany the launch of a new regional report “Back to Work: Growing with Jobs in Europe and Central Asia”. Populari’s Presentation: Presentation of Animal Welfare Paper
In January 2014, Vedrana Čović from Populari was invited to present Populari’s well-received paper “An Affair of Animal Welfare” at the University of British Columbia‘s Animal Welfare Department in Vancouver, Canada. The paper was written as part of DGAP’s initiative Promoting Policy Dialogue in the Western Balkans and stresses the importance of even seemingly “unimportant” concepts in the region such as animal welfare for the export of meat into the EU. The presentation was given to PhD students at the University enrolled in the animal welfare department and covered economic and export implications of farm animal welfare focusing on Bosnia. Populari Event: PopulariPanel “YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT: Do You Have an Attitude Issue?”
Along with the publishing of the first policy brief within the “The Flip Side of the Bosnian Unemployment Coin” project, Populari organized a panel discussion, titled “Youth Unemployment: Do you have an attitude issue?,” which was held on Wednesday, 11 December 2013 in Hotel Europe in Sarajevo. The panel brought together representatives of governmental unemployment bureaus, private employment agencies, non-governmental and youth organizations, as well as many students and youngsters.
