Conference: Clusters as Tools for Concrete Sustainable Development

Fabien Segnarbieux, Populari’s intern participated in the conference named “Clusters as Tools for Concrete Sustainable Development“ held in Sarajevo on April 3rd 2014 and organized by the French Embassy in Sarajevo and French Ministry of Sustainable Development.

This conference – experience discussion was held in the André Malraux Center/French Institute in BiH as a part of the French Week of Sustainable Development in BiH with the aim to present the notion of cluster and its application in France and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

One of the conference’s topics was the description of French cluster “EURALENS” presented by Mr. Gilles Pette, Coordinator and Director that talked about experience of the initiative from its creation until today. The conference showed to participants both advantages and challenges posed by the concept of clusters to develop a region.

Likewise, representative of domestic clusters presented their actions in order to raise awareness regarding the potential and the achievements of today’s BiH clusters.  One of the examples was the establishment of a „Sarajevo Cinema Cluster” pursued by the Association of Filmmakers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
