Alida Vračić is a political scientist and a co/founder and the executive director of think tank Populari, Western Balkans think tank specializing in the post-conflict state building processes democratization, good governance and migration. She holds a Law degree from University of Sarajevo and Karl- Franzens-Universitaet Graz, where she specialized in criminal proceeding law. She also holds M.Sc. in International public policy form University College London (UCL) and the Executive Education for non-government executives at Kennedy School of governance (Harvard). Following the appointment of the three State Ombudsman in December 2008, a team of Populari analysts have researched what this reform has led to. Considering the importance of human rights protection mechanisms in Bosnia, we believe that a reform of this scale serves as a good example for analyzing the overall picture of how reforms are implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the implementation of the project, we focused on the different fields with each having unique economic challenges in both entities. Populari discussed how to improve the benefits SMEs and middle size entrepreneurs received from consultants (through diagnosis of the problem, offering solutions and progress evaluations) as well as the availability of consultants (through the promotion of field visits, identification of various type of required knowledge at different prices).
